Protein concentrate and isolate arrive in sacks, which are tipped at an enclosed station and screened. A magnet on the transfer line catches tramp metal before the powder reaches the blender.

The protein base is blended with cocoa or flavour, sweetener, thickener and added vitamins and minerals. Minor ingredients are weighed separately and added to the blender so they disperse right through the batch.

Fine protein powder is agglomerated into larger, porous particles so it wets out and mixes into liquid instead of clumping on the surface. Liquid protein streams are spray dried into powder where the plant starts from a liquid feed.

Jars and canisters are auger filled, a scoop is dropped in, and the container is closed and sealed. Each filled container is weight-checked on the line.

Refill packs and single-serve sachets are formed, dosed and sealed, with zipper pouches used for repeat-use packs. Gas flushing is applied where the pack is meant to hold its condition through shelf life.

Batch and expiry details are coded onto each pack and the metal detector clears the stream. Cartons are stacked onto pallets and wrapped for transport.
