Coconut Powder Processing Plant & Machinery Solutions
Coconut powder, or desiccated coconut, is made from the white kernel of mature nuts. The coconuts are dehusked and shelled, the brown paring removed, and the kernel washed, cut or disintegrated, blanched, dried and then sifted into grades from fine to medium before packing.
Complete Coconut Process Flow
Mature nuts are taken in, the fibrous husk is stripped off and the hard shell is cracked away from the kernel.
The brown testa is pared off the kernel so only white meat goes forward, and the pared kernel is washed and rinsed.
White kernel is cut and then broken down to the particle the grade calls for — fine, medium or chip. Oversize is returned to the cutter.
The cut meat is blanched with steam and then cooled before it enters the dryer.
Moisture is driven off in a hot-air dryer until the desiccated coconut is stable for storage and trade.
Dried coconut is screened and classified into the fine, medium and coarse grades that are sold separately.
Each grade is weighed out, vacuum or bulk packed, metal checked and cased for despatch.
