Peas Processing Plant & Machinery Solutions
Pea processing converts dried yellow and green peas into split matar dal and pea flour. Peas are cleaned and de-stoned, graded by size, dried to condition the husk, then dehusked and split, with the loosened husk drawn off by aspiration. Part of the output is milled into flour.
Complete Peas Process Flow
Dried peas are received and cleaned of straw, chaff, dust and stones. Magnets take out tramp iron before the peas reach the mill.
Peas are graded into size fractions so that each can be milled on its own setting. Drying brings the seed to a condition in which the husk parts from the kernel.
The husk is abraded off in the dehusking section and the kernel is then split into matar dal. Loose husk is parted from the dal by winnowing before the dal moves on.
Husk and fine powder drawn off the mill are collected for use as cattle feed instead of loading the plant air. The split dal is polished before it goes forward to sorting.
Part of the dehusked pea is ground into pea flour for snack and blended-flour use. The ground stock is sifted and the coarse fraction is returned to the mill.
Colour sorting removes discoloured and off-grade grains from the dal stream. Dal and flour are checked for metal, then weighed, filled and coded on their own packing lines.
