Facewash manufacturing blends water, surfactants, thickeners and skincare actives into a gel or cream cleanser that is filled into tubes and bottles. The batch is mixed in a closed vessel, thickened, pH corrected, deaerated and held before filling.

How it works

Complete Cosmetic Process Flow

Water Charging & Raw Material Weighing

Treated water is held in a storage tank and metered into the batch, while surfactants, gums, powders and actives are weighed against the formulation card. Powdered raw materials are sieved as they are charged so that lumps do not carry into the mixing vessel.

Surfactant Wetting & Blending

Surfactants are drawn into the water phase in a jacketed vessel under slow agitation, which wets the raw material without whipping air into the batch. Warm water is circulated through the jacket to help the surfactant blend dissolve evenly.

Thickening & pH Correction

Thickeners are hydrated and the pH is corrected so that the cleanser builds the body and clarity expected of the grade being made. Shear mixing disperses the thickener fully and prevents gel lumps forming in the batch.

Actives, Beads & Perfume Addition

Exfoliating granules, clays, plant extracts, colour and perfume are added late in the cycle under gentle stirring so that beads stay whole and volatiles are not lost. Vacuum is then applied to pull entrapped air out of the gel before it is transferred.

Bulk Holding & Filling

The approved batch is held in a bulk tank and drawn to the filling line, where tubes and bottles are filled, then sealed or capped. Filled packs are coded and labelled as they leave the filler.

Cartoning & Despatch Packing

Packs are checkweighed, placed into unit cartons and collated into shipper cases. Cases are wrapped on pallets for despatch.
