Cinnamon Processing Plant & Machinery Solutions
Cinnamon processing works with the dried inner bark of the cinnamon tree, which reaches the plant as quills, quillings or broken bark. The bark is cleaned, cut into short chips, milled in stages because it is fibrous and hard, then sieved and packed as quills, chips or powder.
Complete Cinnamon Process Flow
Quills and bark pieces are inspected and cleaned of dust, mould-marked bark and foreign matter. Magnets remove tramp metal introduced during baling and transport.
Quills are cut to short lengths and chipped, because whole rolled bark cannot be fed straight into a fine mill. Cut size is kept even so the mill downstream is loaded steadily.
Chips are reduced to a coarse meal in a first milling pass that breaks down the fibrous bark structure. The mill runs under extraction, with the light fraction recovered in a cyclone.
The coarse meal is ground to powder and classified so only on-specification particles leave the circuit. Coarse and fibrous material is recirculated rather than allowed through to packing.
Quills, chips and powder are packed in jars or pouches, metal checked and labelled.
