Coconut Shell Activated Charcoal Processing Plant & Machinery Solutions
Activated charcoal from coconut shell is a porous carbon used in water treatment, air purification, gold recovery and food and pharmaceutical applications. Shell is carbonised into charcoal, crushed and sized, activated with steam in a furnace, then cooled, milled and screened to the grade required.
Complete Activated Charcoal Water Process Flow
Coconut shell is separated from residual kernel and fibre, then carbonised in a closed kiln so that volatiles are driven off and charcoal remains. The plant is laid out so that carbonisation off-gas is taken to the emission control section rather than released.
Charcoal is crushed and screened into the particle bands the activation stage needs, since granular and powdered grades start from different feed sizes. Undersize fines are collected separately for the powdered grade instead of going into the activation feed.
Sized charcoal is heated in the activation furnace and steam is injected, which opens the pore structure that gives the carbon its adsorption capacity. Steam supply and furnace heating are run from the utility section serving the activation line.
Activated carbon is cooled after discharge, and the flue and process gases pass through scrubbing and dust collection before venting. Emission control equipment is treated as part of the process line, not an afterthought, because carbonisation and activation both generate gas and dust.
Cooled carbon is milled and classified into granular and powdered grades against the mesh specification ordered. Off-spec material is returned to the mill rather than blended into the graded product.
Graded carbon is de-dusted so that loose fines do not travel with the pack, then filled into sacks, drums or bulk bags. Filled packs are weighed, sealed and palletised, with the packing hall kept under dust extraction.
